Timeout with the Times: Mike Willemsen

WDT: You've been involved with Camp Ta Kum Ta, which raises money for kids with cancer, for several years now. How did you get started with that, and what does it mean to you personally to have been a part of the process of raising that money?

Willemsen: I was first asked by Matt Curley to join back when I was a freshman and I jumped at the opportunity, because at the time my mother (Mary) was going through breast cancer and I couldn't imagine a kid having to go through what my mom was going through at the time. I felt compelled to help out with the disease any way I could, and the Knights for Kids campaign with Camp Ta Kum Ta was a great opportunity.
