Nothing Typical About Curley's Path to Reading

The following article featuring former Clarkson standout Matt Curley appeared in the February 1 issue of the Reading Eagle.

Matt Curley had barely learned to walk before he found himself in skates, hockey stick in hand. It's a typical story for most guys who end up playing this game for a living.

The backdrop for Curley's start is a bit atypical, though.

He grew up in Louisville, N.Y., a tiny town of 3,195 near the Canadian border that barely had enough kids for a full hockey team. Curley skated in an old rink with natural ice and a chicken-wire fence.
