Team Notes: Clarkson Heading to New England

Coming off a weekend split in Potsdam, the Clarkson University Hockey team takes to the road to battle the early leaders in the four-month race for the 2009 ECAC Hockey regular season title. The Golden Knights will travel to New England this Friday and Saturday to battle Harvard in Cambridge, MA and Dartmouth in Hanover, NH.

Guided by sixth-year head coach George Roll, associate coach Greg Drechsel and assistant coach Jean-Francois Houle, the Green and Gold opened defense of their 2008 ECAC regular season championship this past Friday with a 3-1 victory over Brown at Cheel Arena. On Saturday, the Knights came out on the short end of a 3-2 loss to Yale.

Ranked 16th in the latest the latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine and USCHO.com/CBS College Sports national polls, Clarkson owns a 2-2-2 overall record. The Knights split their opening weekend, defeating RIT (6-4) before losing to Niagara (4-3) in Western New York on October 17-18. Clarkson also skated to a pair of ties (1-1 and 2-2) against then #1-ranked Colorado College in Potsdam on October 24-25.
