Brown Players: Big Save

As hockey fans awaken to enjoy a little post-Christmas eggnog this morning, it’s a good time to sit back and be thankful for all our blessings.
A case in point is a trio of young water enthusiasts, who can be thankful they’re still around for the holiday season after six current and former Brown hockey players came to their rescue in the immediate days after Tropical Storm Irene struck the area last August.
The day unfolded with the Brown players — senior blueliner Mike Wolff of Walpole, sophomore forward Mike Borge of Somerset, senior winger Bobby Farnham of North Andover, junior forward Jeff Ryan, sophomore defenseman Dennis Robertson and ex-Bears skater David Brownschilde — heading to a beach in Little Compton, R.I., for a respite from preseason workouts.
