Stephane Bergeron of La Griffe Originale has created Yann Danis mask for the 2011-2012 season. The 30-year old Danis spent last season with Khabarovsk of the KHL and signed this summer to give the Oilers and experienced number three behind Nikolai Khabibulin and Devan Dubnyk. While it’s unlikely he’ll see much NHL time Scott Reynolds of The Copper and Blue blog argues that in his limited NHL time, Danis has proven to be more than capable.

Danis’ helmet is a tribute to past Oiler greats of course: Gretzky, Messier, the Oilers’ Cup winning seasons and both the chin and the full left side reserved for goaltender Grant Fuhr. We like the combination of detailed tribute images with the bold and simple graphic that is the Oilers logo.
