Danis Returns to North America, Signs with Edmonton
General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with former Brown goaltender Yann Danis on a one-year contract.
Danis, 30, spent last season with Amur Khabarovsk in the KHL.
The 6’0, 185-pound Lafontaine, Quebec native has played in 45 career NHL games with the Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils collecting a 16-20-3 record, 2.72 GAA and .912 save percentage.
Danis played four seasons with Brown where he won multiple awards, including 2004 ECAC Player and Goaltender of the Year and was also a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. He also set ECAC records for single season save percentage (.942) and career shutouts (13).
