Stars Sign Garbutt
Frisco, Tex. – The Dallas Stars
announced today that the club has signed former Brown forward Ryan
Garbutt to a one-year, two-way contract.
Garbutt, 25, played the majority of 2010-11 with the Chicago
Wolves of the AHL, collecting 37 points (19g, 18a), 118 penalty
minutes and a +27 rating in 65 games. The Winnipeg, Manitoba,
native also played 10 games for the Gwinnett Gladiators of the
ECHL, scoring 10 goals and seven assists for 17
points. Garbutt skated in 64 games for the Corpus Christi
Icerays in 2009-10, accruing 50 points (22g, 28a).
The 6-1, 185-pound center played four seasons at Brown from 2005-2009, dressing in 116 games and posting 58 points (29g, 29a).
