Garbutt Inks Contract with Chicago
The Chicago Wolves have released center Ryan
Garbutt from his Professional Tryout Contract (PTO) and signed
him to a Standard Player Contract (SPC). Garbutt is a former Brown
standout.
Garbutt has tallied six goals, 10 points, 29 penalty minutes and a
+6 plus/minus rating in 20 games since joining the Wolves on Nov.
10. His six goals rank seventh on the team, while his +6 plus/minus
rating holds fourth. Prior to joining Chicago, Garbutt racked up 17
points (10G, 7A) in 10 games with the ECHL’s Gwinnett
Gladiators.
Last season, the 25-year-old forward ranked third on the Corpus
Christi Icerays (CHL) with 22 goals and sixth with 50 points in 64
games during his professional debut. He also paced Corpus Christi
and ranked eighth in the CHL with 204 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native posted 29
goals, 29 assists, 58 points and 203 penalty minutes in 116 career
outings with Brown University (ECAC), spanning four seasons
(2005-09).
