Volpatti Makes NHL Debut
VANCOUVER -- Former Brown standout Aaron Volpatti made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut Saturday for the Vancouver Canucks in the team's 4-1 victory over Toronto.
Donning jersey No. 54, Volpatti took nine shifts for a total of four minutes, 57 seconds of ice time. He recorded one shot on goal, and had one shot attempt blocked. Volpatti signed with Vancouver following his college career and has played for the Canucks' top Minor League affiliate in Manitoba. In 26 games with the Moose, he recorded six assists and 44 minutes in penalties.
In four seasons (2006-10) with Brown, Volpatti appeared in 123 games, scoring 32 goals and adding 30 assists. He scored 17 goals and added 15 assists in 37 games during his senior campaign, helping Brown advance to the 2010 ECAC Hockey Championship semifinals.
