Rosen Begins Pro Career as a Killer Bee
HIDALGO, TEXAS -- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced that former Brown goaltender Dan Rosen has signed with the team for the 2010-11 hockey season.
Rosen, 23, spent the last four seasons at Brown University, a NCAA Division 1 program in Providence, R.I. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Syosset, N.Y., native appeared in 76 games for the Bears from 2006-10. Overall he posted a 16-39-11 record, a .915 save percentage, and a 3.29 GAA. Statistically, his best season came as a freshman when he posted a 9-12-4 record along with a .920 save percentage and a 2.74 GAA. He earned the Kevin R. Pope Memorial Trophy as the team's most outstanding rookie as voted by teammates.
"The level of play is something I'm looking forward to," Rosen said. "I like what Coach (Chris) Brooks is trying to put together and I know I'll have to compete hard in camp to claim a spot."
Before playing collegiately, Rosen played four seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Waterloo Blackhawks and Green Bay Gamblers.
