Volpatti Named Third-Team All-League
ALBANY, NY - Brown senior tri-captain Aaron Volpatti
(Revelstoke, BC) has been named Third Team All-ECAC Hockey in a
vote by the League's 12 head coaches. Volpatti joins 17 other
student-athletes in earning All-League recognition in the
announcement made Tuesday afternoon.
A dominant player in all situations, Volpatti has played in all 29
games this season and enters Brown's First Round series at RPI
ranked third on the team with 23 points (11g, 12a). All three of
those numbers are new career-highs for the senior, passing his
previous career-high for goals by five, his previous career-high
for assists by five, and his previous career-high for points by 10.
A top special teams player for the Bears, Volpatti also leads the
team with five power play goals and two short-handed goals, in
addition to leading the team with two game-winning goals. Volpatti
is an aggressive player and currently leads the team with 29
penalties for 91 minutes, a mark that ranks fourth all-time at
Brown. For his career, Volpatti has 53 points (26g, 27a), including
nine power play goals, three short-handed goals, and three
game-winning goals, in 115 games, a team-high. In addition, his 212
penalty minutes (74 penalties) is a mark that ranks 7th all-time at
Brown.
Volpatti and the rest of the team return to action this Friday
when they being a best-of-three First Round series at RPI. The
Bears finished in 11th place during the regular season and will
face the sixth-place Engineers on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday if
necessary. All games begin at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets for the series are available through the Brown ticket
office until Thursday at noon. Prices are $12.00 for adults and
$8.00 for children and students.
