Brown Delivers Toys to Children's Hospital
PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's hockey team, which hosted a Toy
Drive spanning three games in December, delivered the donated toys
to Hasbro Children's Hospital on Thursday, December 17. Thanks to
the generosity of Bears' hockey fans, Brown was able to donate many
needed items to the Children's Hospital for the 2009 Holiday
season.
Senior tri-captains Jordan Pietrus (Winnipeg, MAN), Devin
Timberlake (Port Alberni, BC) and Aaron Volpatti (Revelstoke, BC)
loaded the toys into boxes on Thursday morning and made the trip
downtown along with head coach Brendan Whittet to deliver the
donated items to the hospital.
Unfortunately, because of the hospital's visitor restrictions on
children under the age of 18 due to the current H1N1 outbreak, the
team could not visit with any of the patients. However, they hope
to make a return trip to the hospital when the restrictions get
lifted to visit with patients.
