Yann Danis would have preferred a regulation-time victory in his
Devils debut, but the 28-year-old goalie was more than satisfied
with the way he played in Wednesday night's preseason opener
against the Rangers.
Danis stopped 28 of 30 Rangers shots and won the game in a
shootout. Surprisingly, perhaps, he played the entire game while
Jeff Frazee watched from the bench.
"They kind of told me before it would depend on the game," Danis
revealed. "I guess they figured we had the lead and they decided to
keep me in. I felt good to get that one out of the way. It's good
to come out here and play my first game for the Devils and get the
win."
