Brown to Host "Skate with the Bears"

PROVIDENCE, RI -- Under the direction of first-year head coach
Brendan Whittet '94, the Brown men's ice hockey team is set to
begin official practices on Friday, October 16th. In conjunction
with the start of the new season, the team is hosting a "Skate with
the Bears" on Saturday afternoon, October 24.
The event will allow families and children the opportunity to
interact with the Brown team, as they head into the 2009-10 season.
Food and drinks will be provided as part of the events, along with
giveaways and an autograph session with current members of the
team.
The Bears' practice that day, which is open to the public, is from
2:00-3:00. The team will then join fans on the ice.
"We are very much looking forward to hosting our first
‘Skate with the Bears' event," said head coach Brendan
Whittet. "This is a great opportunity for the team to interact with
the local community. They are excited about getting out on the ice
with the local youth players and their families."
