Sibbald Earns Monthly Honor
CHARLOTTE, NC - Huntsville Havoc goaltender Mark Sibbald, a
former Brown standout, has been named the Sher-Wood SPHL Player of
the Month for October/November.
Posting a 6-0-1 record in seven games played, Sibbald currently
leads the league in wins, goals against average (1.86) and save
percentage (.942) as the Havoc are locked in a three-way tie for
first place, despite having played two fewer games than
Fayetteville and three fewer than Pensacola.
The Ridgeway, Ontario native started the season strong as he
defeated the defending champion Knoxville Ice Bears 5-2 on October
24. Over his next three games, Sibbald allowed a total of four
goals, capped by a 40-save performance against the Ice Bears on
November 7. A 4-3 overtime loss to Pensacola on November 12 would
be the only blemish on his record, as Sibbald rebounded with two
more victories to close out November.
Sibbald, who is in his first SPHL season after spending the
previous four seasons at Brown University, has given up two or
fewer goals in six of his seven starts.
