Devils Signings Include Poli and Vokes
TRENTON, NJ -- The ECHL's Trenton Devils have announced the
signings of seven players, including former Brown forwards Chris
Poli and Matt Vokes. The announcement was made by Trenton Devils
General Manager Chris Lamoriello. As per organizational policy, no
further terms were disclosed.
Poli, 25, re-joins the T-Devils for his third season after missing
most of the 2008-09 season due to injury. The 6-1, 210-lb. forward
scored five goals in eight games last season and tallied four goals
in 11 games at the end of the 2007-08 campaign. Prior to joining
the Devils, Poli played four seasons at Brown University (ECAC)
with Lowell (AHL) Devils signee Jeff Prough, who led Trenton with
31 goals in 2008-09. Poli was born August 1, 1984 in Medfield,
MA.
Vokes, who turned 24 today, will begin his professional career in
Trenton after an excellent senior year at Brown. The 6-1, 190-lb.
forward led the Bears in goals (11), assists (17) and points (28)
during the 2008-09 season. During his four seasons (2005-2009) at
Brown, he collected 64 points (28g, 36a) in 115 games. Vokes was
born in Auburn, MA.
