The following article appeared December 1 on the Brown Web site.
After a two-game hiatus from ECAC Hockey action, Brown will face
Harvard in a League game this evening, the Bears’ final road
contest of the semester. The game also marks the start of a tough
stretch where Brown will play 4 games in a span of 8 days to close
out the 2009 calendar year.
Last Time Out: Brown stormed out to a 5-0
first-period lead and never looked back en route to an 8-1 win over
UConn on Saturday night. Junior Jesse Fratkin led six different
goal scorers with his first career hat trick, while freshmen
Francis Drolet and Marc Senecal each scored their first career
goals. Senior Sean McMonagle, sophomore Jack Maclellan, and
freshman Chris Zaires also scored in the victory. Brown spread the
assisting around as well, led by senior Devin Timberlake with
three, his first career multi-assist game. Juniors Jeremy Russell
and Sean Connauton, and Zaires all added two assists, while senior
Jordan Pietrus, juniors Harry Zolnierczyk and Tyler Fernandez,
sophomore Bobby Farnham, freshman Richie Crowley, and Maclellan all
added one assist. For Connauton, Fernandez, and Crowley it was
their first career points, while Farnham picked up his first point
of the season. Sophomore Mike Clemente picked up his first win of
the season with 24 saves, including 12 in the first period.
Coming Up: Brown will close out the semester with three home games in five days. The Bears host Princeton and #4 Quinnipiac on Friday and Saturday night, before hosting AIC in a non-league tilt on Tuesday, Decemebr 8.
