Manchester Releases Baier
MANCHESTER, NH -- The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate
of the Los Angeles Kings, released former Brown defenseman Paul
Baier from his amateur tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of
Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Baier, 23, recently completed his senior season at Brown University
with seven points (2-5=7) and 38 penalty minutes in 31 games.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound native of North Kingstown, Rhode Island,
played in 125 games over four seasons (2004-08) at Brown University
and compiled five goals and 23 assists for 28 points and 135
penalty minutes. Selected by the Kings in the third-round
(95th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Baier did not play in a
game with the Monarchs this season.
The Monarchs travel to the MassMutual Center on Wednesday, March 19
for an important game against Springfield Falcons at 7:05
