
Esdale Heads to Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi Rayz Head Coach Ken McRae announced on Monday
that the Central Hockey League team acquired former CHL defenseman
of the Year Paul Esdale, who played at Brown, from the
Colorado Eagles for future considerations.
Esdale, 28, comes to the Rayz from the defending President's Cup
Champions, the Colorado Eagles. Esdale played collegiate
hockey at Ivy league, Brown University. He played 119
games with the Brown Bears totaling 25 games and 42 assists.
He joined the Florida Everblades of the ECHL in 2004. Then
during the 2004-2005 season, the Alberta-native exploded onto the
CHL scene. He was awarded the CHL Defenseman of the Year
while playing with the Wichita Thunder. He scored 69 points
in 57 games and was teammates with Rayz forward Joe Blaznek.
Last season he played for three different teams in Sweden before
finding his way back to the CHL playing for the Youngstown
Steelhounds. Esdale has spent the entire 2007-2008 season
with the Colorado Eagles. In 33 games, he has 7
points.
