
Hurley Heads to Worcester
WORCESTER, MA -- San Jose Sharks Vice President
and Assistant General Manager Wayne Thomas announced that the
Worcester Sharks have signed Brown defenseman Sean Hurley to an
amateur tryout agreement.
The 6-foot-3, 211-pound Hurley just completed his fourth season at
Brown University where he recorded 19 points (3-16-19) through 31
games his senior year. Hurley accumulated 79 points
through 126 games with Brown along with 115 penalty minutes
anchoring the blue line for the Bears.
The 24 year old native of Rutland, VT played one season with the
Chicago Steel of the USHL before joining the Brown Bears.
Sean spent two seasons with Northfield Mount Hermon, where he
was captain during the 2002-03 season. Hurley was also a member of
the Rutland High School football team which won the 2000 Vermont
State Championship.
Hurley will wear #4 for the Worcester Sharks and join fellow Ivy
Leaguers; Tom Cavanagh (Harvard), Tom Walsh (Harvard), Dennis
Packard (Harvard), and Mike Iggulden (Cornell).
The Sharks have just 18 games left in the season, 10 of which will
be played at the DCU Center, including two this week! The
Sharks host the San Antonio Rampage on Wednesday at 7:05 on "Fill
me up Wednesday." On Friday, the Sharks travel to Lowell for a
rematch with the Devils at 7:05 p.m. With the playoffs on the
line, the Sharks travel to Springfield in hopes of clipping the
Falcons at 7:00 p.m.
