    ITHACA, N.Y. — Freshman forward Tristan Mullin and senior forward Jared Fiegl scored goals for the 18th-ranked Cornell men's hockey team, but Ottawa scored an extra-attacker goal with 43.6 seconds remaining in the third period to scratch out a 2-2 tie on Sunday night at Lynah Rink in the Big Red's second and final exhibition of the season.

    DURHAM, N.H. – Colgate senior goaltender Zac Hamilton (Ottawa, Ontario) made 30 saves Saturday night to keep the Raiders in the fight but the Raiders could not complete the comeback in a 5-3 loss at the nationally ranked No. 20 New Hampshire Wildcats at the Whittemore Center.

    ITHACA, N.Y. — Junior defenseman Matt Nuttle scored a pair of goals, including the first of four for the Cornell men's hockey team in the third period of a 7-1 drubbing of Guelph on Saturday night at Lynah Rink. The game was the first of two exhibitions for the 18th-ranked Big Red, which will host Ottawa in the other dress rehearsal at 5 p.m. Sunday.

    The No. 8 North Dakota Fighting Hawks beat the St. Lawrence men's hockey team 6-1 on Saturday night in Grand Forks, North Dakota to sweep the non-conference series with the Saints at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

    Sophomore Liam Grande scored twice while junior Max Véronneau had three assists as the Princeton men's hockey team defeated Western in a preseason exhibition on Saturday night at Hobey Baker Rink.
  • Odeen Tufto Scores Overtime Game-Winner To Lift No. 17 Quinnipiac

    HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's ice hockey freshman Odeen Tufto (Chaska, Minnesota) scored twice including the overtime game-winner to lead the nationally-ranked No. 17 Bobcats to a 3-2 win against Vermont in front of 3,655 at the TD Bank Sports Center. Tanner MacMaster (Calgary, Alberta) factored into all three of the Bobcats' goals with a goal and two assists. The Bobcats' victory is their first of the season as they improve to 1-1-1 while Vermont drops to 1-2-0 for the year.

    COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior Evan Tironese scored for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team in a 1-1 tie at Ohio State University, on Saturday afternoon at Schottenstein Center. With the draw, the Engineers are now 0-0-2 to start the season, while the Buckeyes move to 1-1-2.

With the win, the Engineers open the season at 0-0-1, while the Buckeyes move to 1-1-1.

Sophomore Alex Whelan (Ramsey, New Jersey) started the scoring in the first period, and Bo Pieper (Roseville, Minnesota) kept the Bobcats in the lead through the second. Freshman goalie Keith Petruzzelli (Wilbraham, Massachusetts) made his regular-season debut for the Bobcats, totaling 31 saves in the Bobcats' first game on home ice.
