PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Nolan Aibel (Brookville, N.Y.) evened the score in the third period, but No. 19 Colgate answered and then held on for the win as the Brown men's hockey team fell, 2-1, in ECAC action Friday night at Meehan Auditorium.

Rookie Luke Kania (Chicago, Ill.) made 31 stops for the Bears, while Colton Point recorded 37 saves for the Raiders.
Brown opened the second period on the power play after a scoreless first stanza, but Colgate managed to kill an early penalty and followed with the first goal of the game at 2:10 in the middle frame, as Josh McKechney notched his first career goal for the 1-0 lead.
The Bears benefited from a power play to end the period, and capitalized with three shots on target in the final minute, but Point turned away all three bids to preserve the lead.
Aibel evened the score with a power-play goal at 5:57 in the third period. He skated into the slot, waited in traffic and then ripped a shot past Point to even the score. Tyler Bird (Andover, Mass.) and Brent Beaudoin (Londonderry, N.H.) both assisted on the play to extend their point streaks to three games.
Nevertheless, Cosgrove answered back 22 seconds later as he scored from the top of the left circle to push the Raiders back in front, 2-1.
Brown continued to put shots on target for the remainder of the third period, but after Kania was pulled for the extra skater, Point made five saves over the final 1:21 to secure the victory.
Brown will host No. 4 Cornell tomorrow at 7 PM. The game will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network and ESPN3.
