HAMDEN, Conn. - The nationally-ranked No. 20 Quinnipiac men's
ice hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie against Ohio State at the High
Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. With the tie,
Quinnipiac goes to 2-1-1 on the season while Ohio State goes to
1-1-1.
Matthew Peca (Petawawa, Ontario) scored the game's first goal
midway through the second period when he picked up a loose puck in
front of the Quinnipiac bench. Peca skated into the Buckeyes' zone,
between the face-off circles and wristed a shot past Ohio State's
Brady Hjelle to give Quinnipiac an early 1-0 lead.
With less than half of the third period to play Tyler Lundey found
Matt Johnson on the doorstep for a one-timer that put Ohio State on
the board and tied the game at 1-1.
Quinnipiac and Ohio State resume play on Saturday, Oct. 20 for the
second game of their two-game set at the High Point Solutions Arena

the popular "Skate With The Bobcats". Fans are asked to bring their
