Clarkson, St. Lawrence Face Off in Lake Placid

None of the players on the Clarkson or St. Lawrence University men’s hockey rosters were alive when the U.S. hockey team upset the Soviet Union 4-3 in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.
But as historians and fans of their sport, and aided by recent movies like “Miracle,” the players on both rosters are aware of the special location for their rivalry game at 7:30 tonight at the Herb Brooks Arena.
“It’s really cool playing there with all the history there and the 1980 team,” Clarkson’s Will Frederick said.
