COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have added Greg Drechsel, a former Colgate standout and associate head coach at Clarkson, as an amateur scout, Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Scott Howson announced August 2.
Drechsel has spent the past six years at Clarkson University, most recently serving as associate head coach. Prior to that he was a member of the Los Angeles Kings scouting staff from 1996-03, including serving as the assistant director of amateur scouting from 2000-03. A graduate of Colgate University, he registered 52-78-130 and 216 penalty minutes in 128 career games for the Raiders from 1984-88. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Clarkson from 1989-93 before stints at Miami (Ohio) University in 1993-94 and at the University of Denver from 1994-96.
