HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team won its fifth straight game with a 6-1 non-conference victory against Bentley at the High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. Six different Bobcats scored as Quinnipiac improves to 5-1-0 on the season.

Freshmen Matthew Peca (Petawawa, Ontario), Bryce Van Brabant (Morinville, Alberta) and sophomore Zach Tolkinen (Lino Lakes, Minn.) all scored their first career goals, while Kellen Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) and Cory Hibbeler (St. Louis, Mo.) scored their second goals of the season.

Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) scored his team-leading seventh goal of the year in the win. Langlois, named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week on Tuesday, has now scored in three straight games and five of Quinnipiac's six games.

Quinnipiac dominated play for most of the game, outshooting Bentley, 51-18, while scoring twice on the power play. Quinnipiac goalie Dan Clarke (Belleville, Ontario) improved to 3-0-0 on the season after stopping 17 of Bentley's 18 shots on goal, including the last 12 he saw for the night.

Van Brabant put Quinnipiac on the board six minutes into the game when he took a pass from Yuri Bouharevich (Montreal, Quebec) for his first career marker. Spencer Heichman (Yorba Linda, Calif.) started the play when he worked the puck over to Bouharevich, who fed the freshman forward.

Following Bentley's Brett Gensler's game-tying goal in the 12th minute, Peca scored his first career goal with less than three minutes to play in the period. The Bobcats, on the power play, worked it around the perimeter before Zach Davies (Smithers, British Columbia) received a pass on the wing from Langlois and fed Peca just above the baseline. Peca went high on Bentley's Brandon Komm, tucking the puck just under the bar to give Quinnipiac the lead for good.

Kellen Jones scored on assists from twin brother Connor Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) and Russell Goodman (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) just thirty-six seconds into the second period - the fastest goal to start a period this season for the Bobcats. Just before the halfway point of the second frame, Tolkinen took a blast from the point, on the power play, that found the elbow of the goal mouth and clanged home for his first career tally. Tolkinen was set-up on the play by Zurevinski and Peca.

Tolkinen picked up his second point of the game when he assisted on Langlois' goal just over three minutes into the third period. Hibbeler scored his second goal of the season at the 10:41 mark with assists to the Jones' brothers.

Quinnipiac is back in action when they host Bentley on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. The Bobcats head out on the road this weekend when they face Robert Morris in a two-game set in Moon Township, Pa. Quinnipiac then plays their next three games on the road, against ECAC Hockey foes Princeton, Dartmouth and Harvard, before returning home on Nov. 11-12 to face Clarkson and St. Lawrence, respectively.
