Bobcats Fall to St. Lawrence in Overtime
The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team lost to St. Lawrence, 1-0
in overtime, in an ECAC Hockey match-up at High Point Solutions
Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. The loss drops Quinnipiac to
7-4-2 overall and 1-2-2 in ECAC Hockey play while St. Lawrence wins
its third straight to improve to 3-5-0 overall and 3-1-0 in league
action.
"It was frustrating, I think we had 33 shots and didn't score,"
head coach Rand Pecknold said. "Just one of those games –
like last night – when the puck just wouldn't go in for
us."
St. Lawrence's Kyle Flanagan scored the game-winner just 2:02 into
overtime for his sixth goal of the year. Gunnar Hughes put a shot
on goal that was stopped by Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.)
but Flanagan was able to pick it up behind the goal. His
wrap-around was reviewed by the officials, but ultimately ruled a
goal.
Quinnipiac's Hartzell took the hard-luck loss after blanking the
Saints through regulation to the tune of 20 saves on 20 shots. St.
Lawrence's Matt Weninger picked up the shut-out victory for St.
Lawrence after denying Quinnipiac on 33 shots-on-goal. Quinnipiac
outshot St. Lawrence, 33-23, in the game.
The Bobcats are back in action when they travel to Hamilton, N.Y.

Bobcats then head to Ithaca, N.Y. to face Cornell on Nov. 12 at 7
