Three-Goal Third Lifts Cornell Over Colgate
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nick D'Agostino had a goal and an assist and Joe
Devin and Greg Miller both tallied a pair of assists as the Cornell
men's hockey team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-3
victory over Colgate in front of 5,413 fans at the Prudential
Center in Newark, N.J., on Saturday night. The win marked the 300th
career victory of head coach Mike Schafer.
Tyler Roeszler, John Esposito and Sean Collins each added a goal
for the Big Red (3-6), while Kirill Gotovets added an assist on the
night. Cornell got 16 saves from Andy Iles in goal and went 1-for-5
on the power play on the night, with Collins' game-winner being the
only man-advantage marker of the evening.
For Colgate, Jeremy Price, Austin Mayer and Chris Wagner each
scored a goal, while Brian Day, Austin Smith, Nick Prockow, Thomas
Larkin and Robbie Bourdon each tallied an assist. Alex Evin took
the loss in goal, stopping 21 Cornell shots, as Colgate (2-9-1)
finished the night scoreless in three power-play chances.
