Yale, Quinnipiac Ignite Rivalry

NEW HAVEN -- In the grand scheme of things, the experts of the college hockey world probably wouldn't cast a second glance at the two Northeast programs separated by just about 10 miles of Whitney Avenue. Yale and Quinnipiac aren't exactly NCAA tournament world-beaters. In fact, despite a history that dates back well over 100 years, the Bulldogs have only made the NCAA tournament three times. Quinnipiac only once.

But that's all in the past. In today's society, we live in the moment and right now, the moment is pretty darn special around these two programs. This past Friday night, as a standing room only crowd packed into Ingalls Rink, Yale and Quinnipiac put their two nationally ranked teams on display for all to see.

That's right. Two nationally ranked teams.
