NEW HAVEN — Energy is always full tilt whenever the Yale and
Quinnipiac men’s hockey teams meet. This time, the
game’s impact will resonate much farther than Greater New
Haven and ECAC Hockey.
When the puck drops at Ingalls Rink tonight at 7 for the first of
two meetings this season between No. 4 Quinnipiac and No. 10 Yale,
it represents one of the marquee matchups in the country.
The series between No. 2 Denver and No. 6 Colorado College may get
top billing in college hockey circles this weekend. Still, that two
of the top teams in the nation are separated by only an eight-mile
stretch of Whitney Avenue speaks volumes about the elite level of
hockey being played in Greater New Haven.
