Weekly Release: Then There was One

ALBANY, NY -- Sole possession of first place in ECAC Hockey belongs to Quinnipiac for the second consecutive week.  Winners of all six of their league games, the Bobcats are the only undefeated team in league play (6-0-0).  Clarkson was another team that enjoyed a successful weekend in league action picking up three points with a win and a tie over the weekend.

Riding one of the nation's current longest unbeaten streaks at six games, Quinnipiac picked-up four points in the league standings by sweeping Colgate, 5-3 and Cornell, 3-2 on the road last weekend.  Brandon Wong had a goal and two assists to lead Quinnipiac while Jeremy Langlois had his first multiple-goal game of his career.  Zach Hansen had a pair of assists while Quinnipiac freshman Eric Hartzell stopped 27 of 30 shots in net and also assisted on a goal in the win over Colgate Friday.  Brian Day tallied his seventh multi-goal game of his career, but it wasn't enough as the Raiders saw their six-game unbeaten streak snapped.  Colgate starter Charles Long saved 22.  The senior was pulled for the last 8:02 of the second period following the Bobcats' fourth goal.  Bryan Bessette finished off the second period with one save in his first action of the year in the cage.  Long returned to make six stops in the final period.
