League Identified in National Rankings

ALBANY, NY - Four ECAC Hockey teams continue to hold their own in the national rankings in the early part of the 2009-10 season.  Cornell, Yale, Princeton, and Quinnipiac were once again voted in the Top 20 of the most recent national USCHO.com poll and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll, which were released Monday.

Cornell keeps its spot in the No. 6 slot in both the USCHO.com poll and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll, earning 701 points and 294 points respectively.  The Big Red skate for the first time in regular-season play this weekend as it welcomes Niagara to Lynah Rink.  

Yale, the defending regular-season and ECAC Hockey Tournament Champions, moved from the No. 8 slot to No. 7 slot with 562 points in USCHO.com rankings, and from No. 9 to No. 7 with 256 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll garnering one first-place vote in each.  The Bulldogs take to the ice this weekend versus Ontario IT in an exhibition game and in an early season showdown with No. 11 Princeton.

The Tigers fell from the No. 10 spot to the No. 11 position in the USCHO.com rankings earning 466 points and dropped from No. 8 to No. 9 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll with 203 points.  Princeton hosts a pair of non-conference games with ECAC Hockey opponents as they battle Brown Friday and No. 7 Yale Saturday.

Riding its three-game winning streak, Quinnipiac jumped from the No. 20 position to the No. 18 in the USCHO.com poll earning 133 points.  The Bobcats will play a two-game road series with Robert Morris this coming weekend.
