Three League Teams in Top 10

ALBANY, NY - Three ECAC Hockey teams earned positions in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Polls released Monday, December 21.  For the fourth consecutive week, three teams fill top-10 spots  - No. 4 Cornell, No. 8 Yale and No. 10 Quinnipiac. 

One of six current teams to have been ranked for the complete 12 weeks in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Poll, Cornell maintains its No. 4 spot in the poll earning (388 points).  The Big Red, who have compiled a 7-2-2 overall record, will resume play December 29-30 taking part in Florida College Classic in Estero, FL matching-up with No. 3 Colorado College in the first-round play. 

Defending league and tournament champion Yale, also have been ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Poll for its twelfth week, maintained the No. 8 position garnering 277 points.  The Bulldogs winners of their last two games will return to the ice in the Badger Hockey Showdown, January 2-3 in Madison, WI facing No. 11 Ferris State in first-round action.

Currently sitting atop the ECAC Hockey standings with a league record of 7-2-0 Quinnipiac maintained its position in the No. 10 spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Poll with 223 points.  Quinnipiac, (13-3-1) sporting the best winning percentage at .794, will return to action Tuesday, December 29 at Harvard in league-play.  

The USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Poll will take a one-week hiatus, returning January 4.

The 15th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
