SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Union College men's ice hockey team extended its unbeaten streak to seven games with a 3-1 win against ECAC Hockey foe Colgate on Friday night at Messa Rink. Freshman Keith Kinkaid also continued his winning ways with 31 stops, giving him a 4-0-1 record in the last five outings. As a whole, Union goes to to 6-3-4 overall and 3-0-2 in conference play. Union's five-game ECACH unbeaten streak is the longest since going 5-0-0 during the 2004-05 season.

Senior Mario Valery-Trabucco continued his assault on the top of the scoring list with his sixth goal and team-best 15th point of the season. Junior Stephane Boileau and freshman Jeremy Welsh each tallied goals. Boileau enjoyed his fifth goal of the season, while Welsh had his fourth.

Boileau registered the game-winning goal at 2:23 of the second period after senior Jason Walters hit the post from the point. Boileau was on the doorstep for his fifth point in four games.

At 9:58 of the third Welsh fired a shot from the top of the right circle to put Union up 3-1, securing its 10th-straight home game with three or more goals. Walters registered the assist for his 14th point of the year and sixth in two games.

The Dutchmen's second shorthanded tally of the season gave them at 1-0 lead at 7:52 of the first period and came off the stick of Valery-Trabucco. Freshman Ryan Forgaard chipped the puck ahead to Valery-Trabucco on the left halfwall. The senior raced through the neutral zone and fired a wristshot past the glove hand of Colgate netminder Alex Evin.

The first period seemed to be heading to a conclusion with Union on top, but Colgate's Ethan Cox evened things up at 19:01, cashing in on a Jason Williams rebound.

Union went 1-for-2 on the power-play and Valery-Trabucco had a penalty shot denied by Evin in the second period. Evin made 18 stops before leaving with an injury. Senior Charles Long made five saves.

On the flip side of the special teams, the Dutchmen killed off both Raider power-plays.
