TAMPA, Fla. -- Canadiens head coach Guy Carbonneau said he
expects the competition to heat up as the National Hockey League
season moves into the stretch, but he’ll have some
reinforcements on hand for tomorrow night’s game against the
Tampa Bay Lightning (7:30 p.m., RDS, CJAD Radio-800).
Christopher Higgins will definitely be in the lineup after missing
19 games with a shoulder injury. And defenceman Ryan O’Byrne,
who was demoted to the team’s American Hockey League
affiliate in Hamilton for a shot of confidence, is a strong
maybe.
“We’ll start Chris off slowly and see where we go from
there,” Carbonneau said as he watched his team go through a
rare early evening practice after flying from Montreal.
