St. Lawrence coach Joe Marsh said he never expects a playoff
game to evolve into a run-and-gun affair, but it's hard not to get
the feeling that such a game could develop this afternoon at Times
Union Center in Albany.
Top-seeded Yale (22-7-2) will take on fourth-seeded St. Lawrence
(21-11-4) in the early semifinal of the ECAC Hockey Championships
in a 4 p.m. game that features the league's top two offenses.
And while they're the underdog, the Saints enter the game as one
of the hottest teams in the nation. St. Lawrence is unbeaten in its
last eight games (7-0-1) and has lost just twice in its last 18
contests (13-2-3).
