Pens’ Duo Rank as 2 Big Pluses

The following article featuring former Dartmouth standout Ben Lovejoy and Colgate standout Joey Mormina appeared in the February 15 issue of the Times-Leader.

The mere fact that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defensemen Ben Lovejoy and Joey Mormina are first and second in the AHL in plus-minus is impressive.

After Wednesday’s game against Lake Erie, Lovejoy topped the AHL with a plus-33 and Mormina was a close second with a plus-29. The next closest player in the league was a distant third with a plus-19.

But what makes their accomplishment astonishing is the fact that Lovejoy and Mormina have been able to rack up the pluses while skating against opponents’ top scoring lines.
