Bates, Cole Prepare for Oilers Training Camp
Former Clarkson standout Erik Cole and former Quinnipiac forward
Jamie Bates are among 76 players attending 2008 Edmonton
Oilers Training Camp, which will open Friday, September 19,
with the first on-ice sessions open to the public at Rexall Place
on Saturday, September 20.
The Oilers' 29th NHL training camp opens on Friday, September 19th
with players undergoing medicals and fitness testing at Rexall
Place.

Following medicals and fitness testing, the players take to the ice
at Rexall Place for the first time on Saturday, September 20th.
Thirty-five players (3 goaltenders, 11 defencemen and 21 forwards)
will be joined by additions from the Oilers' Rookie Camp, which
runs from September 12th to 18th.
The Joey Moss Cup Game concludes the Oilers ATCO Training Camp on
Sunday, September 21st. The Oilers annual inter-squad game will
start at 2:00 p.m. with the doors of Rexall Place opening to the
public at 12:30 p.m.
Tickets for the Joey Moss Cup Game are $12 each with all proceeds
being donated to the Winnifred Stewart Association by the Edmonton
Oilers Community Foundation. Tickets may be purchased in advance at
edmontonoilers.com beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday,
September 8th.

Following the first two days of practice, the Oilers will open
their 2008 NHL pre-season with four games in four nights. The
Oilers begin the pre-season at home as they host the Vancouver
Canucks at Rexall Place on Monday, September 22nd in the first game
of a home-and-home series. After visiting General Motors Place on
Tuesday, September 23rd to conclude the series with Vancouver, the
Oilers will return home to host the Florida Panthers on
Wednesday-Thursday, September 24th and 25th.
The Oilers will also host the Calgary Flames at Rexall Place on
Tuesday, September 30th before concluding the pre-season with road
games at Calgary (October 3rd) and Dallas (October 5th).
Three of the Oilers seven pre-season games will be televised this
season as Rogers Sportsnet West will carry the two games versus
Calgary on September 30th and October 3rd, while TSN will broadcast
the September 25th game with Florida.
