Brooks and Scuderi on Lynx Offer List
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta Lynx have extended qualifying offers
to eight players, including former Yale defenseman Chris Brooks and
former Clarkson defenseman Ken Scuderi, head coach and director of
hockey operations Bob Ferguson announced today.
Each team was entitled to reserve rights to a maximum of eight
qualified players. Of these eight qualified players, no more than
four of the qualified players shall be "veterans" (260 regular
season professional hockey games played as of the start of the
upcoming 2008-09 season).
Brooks, 26, split the 2007-08 season between the Lynx and the Wheeling Nailers, totaling seven points (one goal, six assists) and 86 penalty minutes in 69 regular-season games. Brooks also had one assist and four penalty minutes in five Kelly Cup Playoff games last season. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound native of New York City has 10 points (one goal, nine assists) and 133 penalty minutes in 118 career regular-season ECHL games with Wheeling and Augusta from 2006-07 through 2007-08.
Scuderi, 27, had 18 points (three goals, 15 assists) and 28 penalty minutes in 53 regular-season games with the Lynx last season. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Bethpage, N.Y., has 60 points (11 goals, 49 assists) in 183 career regular-season ECHL games, all with the Lynx.
