HAMDEN, CT - The line of junior Jason Walters and sophomores Adam Presizniuk and Stéphane Boileau highlighted the Dutchmen's 4-2 victory at Quinnipiac on Saturday. The trio combined for seven of Union's 11 points. Walters led the way with a pair of goals and an assist, while Presizniuk tallied a goal and two helpers. Boileau extended his scoring streak to three games with an assist.

The Dutchmen, who were coming off a 3-2 upset at No. 5/7 Princeton on Friday night, improve to 11-8-1 and 4-4-0 in the conference. The Bobcats move to 11-7-2 and 6-4-2 in ECAC Hockey. The game marked the third time this season the two teams squared off. Union won the first contest 6-5 in overtime during the first game of the season on Oct. 17 at the Mutual of Omaha Stampede and Quinnipiac won 6-3 at Messa Rink on Nov. 14.

For Walters it was his third multi-goal and his seventh multi-point game of his career. In the last three contests, he has produced six points behind three goals and three assists.  For the season he is third on the team with 13 points and fourth with six goals.

Presizniuk tallied his team-high tying fourth multi-point game of the season and continues to lead the team with 20 points and 12 assists.

Defensemen Brock Matheson, Mike Wakita and senior Mike Harr and sophomore forward John Simpson also picked up assists.

Sophomore goaltender Corey Milan picked up his 11th victory of the season by turning aside 28 shots. He is now 17-16-7 for his career. Milan and the rest of the defensive corps kept the countries leading scorer, senior Bryan Leitch, off the scoresheet.

Walters, who had two assists against No. 5/7 Princeton, began right were he left off in the first period. The Renfrew, Ontario native broke the scoreless tie only 3:41 into the contest. Presizniuk won the puck of the right boards and found Matheson at the point. The puck was thrown towards the goal and Walters redirected it in past freshman goaltender Dan Clarke.

After Quinnipiac senior Chris Myers tied the game at 13:38, Walters found pay dirt off a scrum in front of the net. Once again Presizniuk won the puck deep in the offensive and hit Boileau in the slot for a one-timer. Clarke fumbled the rebound, the Dutchmen crashed the net and Walters tapped it over the line at 16:25.

Myers goal, his fourth of the season, came off a shot from the point that beat a screened Milan. Freshman Kevin Bui picked up the assist.

The Dutchmen went up by two, 3-1, at 4:55 of the second when Wakita had his attempt deflect in by Presizniuk. The play started with a key face-off win by Boileau, who won it back to Walters.

Milan flashed the leather around the nine-minute mark of the period when the Leitch found senior Matt Sorteberg driving to the net. The quick wrister was gloved and held onto by the Union netminder.

Sorteberg got his revenge moments later when he picked up an assist on junior Eric Lampe's goal at 8:39. The play was similar to Union's third goal with the puck loose in the crease.

Valery-Trabucco registered his second goal in as many games on a two-on-one set up by Simpson with less than two minutes remaining.

Union, who had 24 shots against Quinnipaic, returns to Messa Rink for a pair of weekend games, beginning with a 7:30 p.m. contest against No. 6/8 Cornell on Friday, Jan. 16. The game will be televised on Time Warner Sports Channel 3 in the Capital District. Colgate comes to Union the following night for a 7 p.m. contest.
