HANOVER, N.H. -- Sophomore Adam Estoclet finished off a three-on-two rush with his second goal of the season with 1:06 to play in overtime to lift Dartmouth to a 3-2 win over 19th-ranked St. Lawrence in a ECAC Hockey game at Thompson Arena in Hanover Friday night.

Dartmouth, now 3-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the ECAC, snapped a five-game unbeaten streak by the Saints and beat the Saints in Hanover for the first time in the last three meetings between the two teams. SLU falls to 4-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in ECAC play despite outshooting Dartmouth 45-30 in the game.

Estoclet took a pass from freshman Doug Jones as he skated up the right side and snapped the puck past diving Saint goalie Alex Petizian to give Dartmouth the win at 3:54 of the overtime.

Dartmouth grabbed a 2-0 lead with a pair of power play goals, but the Saints battled back to tie the game late in the second period.

“That was a pretty good hockey game,” said Saint coach Joe Marsh. “I was pleased with the way we battled back a couple of times to tie it, but again it came down to staying out of the box in key situations. Five-on-threes have hurt us in the last couple of games and we have to try to avoid putting ourselves in that kind of spot.”

Sophomore defenseman Joel Stejskad opened the scoring for the Big Green on a five-on-three power play at 13:52 of the first period, converting from Scott Fleming from right in front for his fifth goal of the season.

Dartmouth went up 2-0 at 6:37 of the second when Stephens scored on a four-on-three advantage from Scott Fleming, but the Saints came roaring back.

Brock McBride scored his 11th career point against Dartmouth and his fifth career goal against the Big Green on the power play at 17:02 of the second when he picked up a rebound of a shot from the point on a power play by Zach Miskovic and tucked it past Big Green goalie Jody O’Neill at 17:02 of the second with Matt Generous also assisting. Generous then tied the game with the first even-strength goal of the game, blasting a shot from the high center slot past O’Neill from Brandon Bollig and Augie DiMarzo with 48.7 seconds to go in the second period.

While the Saints took the play to Dartmouth early in the third period, outshooting the Big Green 7-1 in the first seven minutes, the Big Green scored the go-ahead goal with 13:55 gone in the period as Connor Shields deflected a shot from Stephens past Petizian, who argued to no avail that it was tipped by a high stick. Connor Goggins also assisted on the third Dartmouth goal.

The Saints came back to tie it with 1:12 to go as Casey Parenteau fed Aaron Bogosian who put his second of the year past O’Neill with Jeff Caister also assisting.

The Saints outshot Dartmouth 43-29 in regulation including 17-7 in the third period.

St. Lawrence had a great chance to win it just over two minutes into the overtime when Augie DiMarzo was alone in front, but couldn’t get enough of the puck to tip it past O’Neill who finished with 42 saves for his third win of the year. Petizian had 26 saves for the Saints, giving up more than two goals in a game for the first time in his last five starts.
