Holding Polls Position
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The quartet of Princeton, Cornell, Yale and St. Lawrence maintained its presence in the national polls, earning slots in the latest rankings released Monday.
Climbing to No. 6 in both the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine (298 points) and USCHO.com/CBS College Sports (673 points) polls, Princeton (20-7 overall and 14-6 in ECAC Hockey) is the highest-ranking team among the League quartet. The Tigers surged to the No. 6 slot on the strength of a 4-1 victory over Brown Friday and 2-0 triumph over Yale Saturday.
The Big Red of Cornell (17-6-4 overall, 12-5-3 in ECAC Hockey) registered the No. 10 ranking in the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports (540 points) and No. 11 ranking in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine (177 points) poll. Cornell snapped a three-game losing streak last weekend by posting a home sweep of Rensselaer (4-1) Friday and Union (5-2) Saturday.
Yale (19-6-2 overall, 14-4-2 in ECAC Hockey) maintained its League lead and holds the No. 11 slot in the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports (532 points) poll and No. 12 position in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine (171 points) poll. The Bulldogs tied Quinnipiac 3-3 Friday and dropped a 2-0 decision to Princeton Saturday.
St. Lawrence (17-11-4 overall and 9-7-4 in ECAC Hockey) garnered the No. 17 ranking in the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports poll with 191 points. The Saints earned three of four League points last weekend, tying Harvard 2-2 Friday and besting Dartmouth by a 7-2 score Saturday.

About the Polls:
The 14th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
The USCHO.com/CBS College Sports XXL Poll consists of 50 voters, including 28 coaches from the Division I conferences and 22 beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. The poll, published weekly by the Associated Press, is a joint production of USCHO.com, which provides in-depth coverage of college sports, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer and others, and CBS College Sports XXL Networks, Inc., the only digital media company dedicated solely to college sports.
