Princeton Jumps Into Top 10; Cornell, Harvard Maintain National Rankings
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Tigers of Princeton, having completed a weekend sweep in the Capital District, climbed to No. 8 in both national polls, released Monday. Princeton is joined in the national rankings by Cornell (No. 14) and Harvard (No. 18).
Coach Guy Gadowsky's Tigers earned 250 points in the USA
Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, and 616 points in the USCHO.com/CBS
College Sports poll, jumping three slots in the USA Today/USA
Hockey Magazine poll and fourth spots in the USCHO.com/CBS College
Sports poll. Princeton (5-1 overall, 4-1 in ECAC Hockey) netted a
pair of 4-1 triumphs over Rensselaer (Friday) and Union
(Saturday).
The Big Red (2-0-2 overall and 2-0-2 ECAC Hockey), under the
guidance of coach Mike Schafer, secured three points in a
home-and-home series with Colgate. Cornell registered a 4-1 triumph
at Colgate Thursday, and rallied to secure a 2-2 tie with the
visiting Raiders Saturday at Lynah Rink. The Big Red garnered 118
points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, and 385 points in
the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports poll.
The Harvard Crimson (4-2 overall, 4-2 in ECAC Hockey) returned to the national polls, earning a slot in the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports poll on the strength of a weekend sweep of Clarkson (5-1 Friday) and St. Lawrence (1-0 Saturday). Coach Ted Donato's squad accumulated 124 points in the poll.

The 14th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
