ALBANY, NY -- Both the coaches' and media's preseason No. 8 selection Princeton is knocking on the door to the league's top spot with two weeks of league play remaining.  Clarkson remains in the league lead after a split this past weekend.  The coveted top four postseason seeds are still in the sights of several teams.  Home ice was a good thing to have, as nine out of the 12 teams hosting their league foes came out with a victory.

The Princeton Tigers, currently ranked No. 15, split their road weekend series with a 3-2 setback at Harvard and a win at Dartmouth, 5-2, evening their win total of 15 of a year ago.  After Friday's loss the Tigers rebounded in a big way as freshman forward Matt Arhontas scored two goals in the win over the Big Green.

Harvard sophomore forward Doug Rogers recorded his first-career hat trick in the victory and sophomore Kyle Richter made 33 saves as the Crimson gained valuable points in the ECAC Hockey standings.  The Crimson are winners of their last four of five have been sparked by linemates Matt McCollen, Rogers, and Mike Taylor, who have combine to score 10 goals in the last four games.  Rogers has seven points (5-2-7) in his last three games earning him ECAC Hockey Player-of-the-Week honors.  Harvard also downed No. 19-ranked Quinnipiac, 4-1, as freshman Pier-Olivier Michaud scored the first two goals of his career and  Richter made 37 saves improving his personal record to 11-11-3 on the season.

Dartmouth was not to be shutout over the weekend, as it picked-up two league points behind an offensive explosion against Quinnipiac, 7-2.  The seven goals marked the highest scoring output of the season for the Big Green.  Dartmouth's freshmen were valiant contributors over the weekend, scoring 12 points, including five out of the Big Green's nine goals.  Leading the way among the freshmen was Andrew Owsiak, who tallied one goal and three assists earning ECAC Hockey Rookie-of-the-Week honors.

Another team trying to find its skating stride at the opportune time is Colgate, which is unbeaten in its last four (3-0-1).  The Raiders found that rare combination of a high-powered offense and stingy defense over the weekend, as they earned four league points with wins over Rensselaer and Union, 4-0 and 8-0, respectively.  Senior goaltender Mark Dekanich extended his shutout streak to a league and Colgate-record with 212:14.  For his efforts Dekanich was named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week for the second consecutive week.

No. 11-ranked Clarkson saw its eight-game league unbeaten streak come to an end last weekend, as the Golden Knights were upended by Yale 5-2.

Yale picked-up four league points on the weekend and are now tied for the fifth spot in league standings with Harvard and Union.

The Dutchmen continue to play an unyielding brand of hockey that saw them edge Cornell 3-2 Friday in earning a weekend split.  Senior captain Matt Cook had a two-goal outburst, the first for any Union player this season, in mounting the comeback at Cornell.

Brown gave lead leader Clarkson all it could handle, but dropped an overtime contest 4-3.  The Bears would shake the defeat off in a hurry, as they earned a 3-1 win over visiting St. Lawrence behind Dan Rosen's 38-save performance.

Cornell would get into the win column versus RPI Saturday, 7-1, behind senior forward Topher Scott, who scored a goal and added three assists.
