ALBANY, N.Y. -- ECAC Hockey today announced that Cornell freshman forward Joe Devin has been assessed a one-game suspension by the league as a result of a contact-to-the-head incident in the Big Red's contest versus St. Lawrence Saturday, February 9 at Appleton Arena in Canton, New York.

Devin was assessed a five-minute major and game disqualification for contact to the head by the on-ice referee at the one-minute, 21-seconds mark of the second period versus the Saints. The disqualification penalty prohibits him from playing in Cornell's contest versus Union Friday, February 15.

Based upon the league's action, Devin is not eligible to compete in the Big Red's contest versus Rensselaer Saturday, February 16. The suspension is assessed in accordance with ECAC Hockey Policies and Procedures, and Rule 4, Section 10 of the NCAA Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Rules.
