Clarkson, Quinnipiac Headline Group of Four in National Polls

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Clarkson and Quinnipiac, the two finalists in the 2007 ECAC Hockey Championship, earned national rankings in the preseason USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll and the USCHO.com/CSTV Networks Poll. St. Lawrence and Cornell rank among the nation's top teams in the USCHO.com/CSTV poll.

Clarkson, the ECAC Hockey coaches' preseason choice to win the League regular-season title, earned a national ranking of No. 7 in both polls. The Golden Knights totaled 289 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, and 396 points in the USCHO.com/CSTV Networks poll.

Quinnipiac, selected No. 2 in the coaches' preseason poll, earned the No. 15 spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polll, and the No. 14 slot in the USCHO.com/CSTV poll.

St. Lawrence and Cornell garnered the Nos. 16 and 18 slots, respectively, in the USCHO.com/CSTV poll.

About the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll: The 13th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
