Raiders Light Up Starr Rink
HAMILTON, N.Y. - Six different Raiders
found the back of the net as the Colgate men's hockey team defeated
Connecticut, 7-1, on Friday, Nov. 23, at Starr Rink. With the win,
the Raiders improve to 5-6-2 overall this season, while the Huskies
drop to 3-7-0.
Junior Peter Bogdanich (Burnaby, B.C.) was the only Raider to score
more than once, and he finished with a career-high two goals and a
career-high three points. Senior captain Jesse Winchester (Long
Sault, Ont.) contributed three assists, and sophomore David
McIntyre (Pefferlaw, Ont.) had a goal and two assists.
Colgate senior goaltender Mark Dekanich (North Vancouver, B.C.)
made 26 saves as his Raiders put a season-high 45 shots on the
Husky net. Erickson finished his appearance with 17 saves, and
McInnis earned 21 stops over the final 36:58 of the game.
The Raiders will try to extend their current three-game unbeaten
streak when they complete the two-game set with the Huskies on
Saturday, Nov. 23, at Starr Rink. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
Colgate will continue to collect non-perishable food items for the
Hamilton Food Cupboard at the game. Fans who contribute will be
entered into a raffle to win a team-autographed jersey.
