Lampe's shot from the left side of the net was deflected to the right side where Marshall was waiting to put it home. The assist was Lampe's first of the year while Atkinson picked up his fifth.

Holy Cross jumped out to a 2-1 lead when Peter Lorinser scored on a breakaway at the 9:00 mark in the second period.. Lorinser went top-shelf, beating Fisher over his right shoulder, off the cross bar and in the net.

The Bobcats tied the score with less than six minutes to play when Ben Nelson (Spokane, Wash.) passed across ice to Bryan Leitch (Coquitlam, B.C.), who was wide open in the right faceoff circle. Leitch's shot was stopped, but Jamie Bates (Toronto, Ont.) was there to push it across. The assist was Leitch's 13th of the year, and 98th career point. Nelson picked up his 10th assist while Bates converted on his fourth goal of the season.

Quinnipiac then took their first lead of the game with 32 seconds remaining in the period. Dan Henningson's (Edmonton, Alb.) shot was blocked and picked up by Jean-Marc Beaudoin (St. Paul, Alb.). Travis' goal was his eighth of the season, while Beaudoin and Henningson picked up their 10th and 12th assists, respectively.

With just over four minutes remaining in the game, Quinnipiac freshman Isak Tranvik (Robbinsdale, Minn.) scored the first goal of his collegiate career. Nelson received a pass from Lampe and then dropped off a pass to Tranvik in the left faceoff circle. Tranvik then beat Roy to the far corner of the net to put Quinnipiac on top, 4-2. Wong would add an empty net goal on a pass from Beaudoin with 11 seconds remaining in the game.
